Arrive at Dongmen

Dongmen is R07 on the red line and O06 on the orange line. From Taipei Main Station, take a southbound red-line service that calls at Dongmen; check the next-station display before boarding.

  • Follow Exit 5 for the Yongkang Street approach. For luggage or step-free travel, use the station accessibility map rather than assuming the numbered stair entrance contains a lift.

Find Yongkang Street

At street level, identify Xinyi Road and Yongkang Street on your saved map, then head south into Yongkang Street. Dongmen Market is a separate place; searching its name can send you to a different side of the station.

  • The cropped exit-sign photo is an archive landmark, not a claim about today's shops or advertising. Use crossings at Xinyi Road and do not follow a crowd into an unrelated alley.

Choose the fare

An ordinary MRT fare or supported stored-value card is enough for this visit. A pass is optional and makes sense only after comparing the rest of your day's rides.

  • The linked pass is not a food voucher. Match physical collection versus activation and its calendar-day or hourly validity. The Traditional Chinese airport-pickup product differs from the hourly products offered in other languages; none should be assumed to cover Airport MRT.

Walk the small loop

Archival Yongkang Park

Continue to Yongkang Park, then use Yongkang Street Lane 14 and Lishui Street as the return side of a compact loop. These named streets also form an official tourism-service walking route.

  • Choose food from the current menu and confirm price, opening time and waiting arrangements at the shop. Old storefront photos do not establish current tenants, menu prices or a guaranteed queue length.

Return to Dongmen

On Lishui Street, head back toward Xinyi Road and locate Dongmen Station again. Inside, choose the red or orange line for your next destination rather than taking the first escalator you see.

  • Before leaving the shopping area, check your saved street names. If tired, return by the same route instead of adding Daan Park automatically; it is a separate onward walk, not part of this short loop.
