Start at R10

At Taipei Main, locate the red R Line platform R10. Distinguish it from Airport MRT A1 and the blue BL Line, then choose a southbound service stopping at R08.
- Pass NTU Hospital R09 and leave at Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall R08. Tamsui/Beitou-bound trains run the other way; check the next-stop display.
- From Ximen, the green line goes via Xiaonanmen G11 to G10. R08 and G10 identify the same interchange station.
Choose a fare

Use a supported transport card or a single-journey token. An ordinary fare can be better value than a day pass for this short return trip alone.
- Compare the linked pass only when making enough other MRT journeys. Check covered lines, collection point and hours, activation and cancellation for your chosen option.
- A transport pass is not a hall tour or concert ticket. Different language offers can have different collection arrangements; match the actual product to your starting point.
Find Exit 5
Follow Exit 5 and memorial hall signs. The official station guide lists an elevator at Exit 5; check its current operating status on the day.
- On the surface, identify the Aiguo East Road/Zhongshan South Road junction and the park. The exit is not the main hall doorway; leave time for walking through the broad grounds.
- The photographs identify plaza and building features. They are not a continuous record of the current platform-to-exit route.
Orient in the plaza

Separate the white memorial building with a blue roof from the theatre and concert hall with red-toned architecture. First locate them from the plaza, then walk toward the memorial.
- Theatre and concert-hall interiors have separate visit or performance arrangements. A night photograph does not imply indoor access or a performance ticket.
- In heat or heavy rain, shorten the visit to the plaza and exterior. Include the exposed paved-square walk in your assessment of walking effort.
Choose indoor access

Do not assume you must climb the large front staircase. For an indoor visit, check current opening and lift directions first; exhibition rooms and events can operate separately.
- The ceiling photograph is an architectural reference, not confirmation that every floor and exhibition is open daily. Select a current exhibition from the official notice.
- For a guard event, check the official date, outdoor/indoor location and rain changes. Do not plan to wait beside the statue based only on an old video.
Return to Taipei Main
On the red line at R08, find the northbound train stopping at Taipei Main R10. NTU Hospital R09 as the next stop helps confirm your direction.
- Green Line G10 serves a different route, including Ximen. Match the line letter, colour and destination before going to a platform.
- Continuing to the airport requires a separate walk to A1 and the Airport MRT fare. Arriving at Taipei Main's city-MRT platform does not finish that interchange.
