Arrive at Beimen

Lift sign at Beimen platform

From Ximen G12, take the green line toward Songshan for one stop to Beimen G13. From Taipei Main, a signed pedestrian connection is also possible; do not force an unnecessary train journey.

  • Airport MRT A1, Taipei Main's city MRT and Beimen are connected but distinct facilities. Follow Beimen G13 signs all the way.
  • The station photograph shows an archival lift sign at Beimen's platform. It is not an Airport MRT boarding gate.

Use Exit 3

At Exit 3, locate the Tacheng Street/Zhengzhou Road junction. The operator lists an elevator at this exit; check its current operating status.

  • Follow Tacheng Street north toward Nanjing West Road, then identify Dihua Street Section 1's southern entrance and Yongle Market on your map. Section 2 is much farther north.
  • Allow time for crossings and orientation rather than treating a short map distance as an exact arrival time. Use crossings and watch for scooters.

Compare transport

An ordinary ticket or stored-value card is simple for this walk alone. Compare the linked MRT pass only if making enough other covered journeys that day.

  • Check lines, collection location and hours, activation, validity and cancellation. Airport-collection options are not automatically useful once you are already in the city.
  • A transport pass does not include food, shopping or temple offerings. Pay individual shops separately.

Start at Yongle Market

Confirm the market's building name and use its entrance map to separate food areas from fabric shopping. The photographs show the building and surrounding square, not a shared opening time for every stall.

  • Before buying fabric, ask the pricing unit, minimum length and exchange rules after cutting. Fabric purchase and tailoring are separate costs.
  • If only eating, choose an open food stall first. Leave stairs, lifts and circulation space clear when waiting.

Walk Section 1

From the market, walk north along Section 1, looking at historic façades, dried-goods shops and tea merchants. At Xia-Hai City God Temple, follow worshippers' circulation and photography rules.

  • Ask before tasting, and confirm package size or weight before paying. Check your home country's import rules for tea, medicinal products and food.
  • To return, mark Yongle Market and Tacheng Street again. The riverfront is a separate extension, not the same place as the shopping street just because both appear in sunset guides.
