Leave at Jiantan
From Taipei Main R10 take a northbound Red Line train toward Tamsui or Beitou and leave at Jiantan R15. Check the station code and departure display before boarding.
- Do not stay on to Shilin R16 just because it shares the market's name. This guide uses the Jiantan-side approach; Shilin Station gives a different walk.
Follow Exit1
Outside the paid area follow Exit1 and night-market signs. The city market office describes turning left onto Wenlin Road. Use pedestrian crossings and stop out of the walking flow to check your map.
- The market spreads around Wenlin, Dadong, Danan and Jihe roads rather than sitting behind one gate. Save the station exit and a meeting point before separating.
Compare the fare
For a short return, compare ordinary fares or an EasyCard with the linked MRT pass. Calendar-day and24/48/72-hour options have different expiry rules.
- Match the selected pickup counter, physical-ticket exchange and cancellation conditions. A transport pass does not pay for food or market goods; airport collection is not proof that Airport MRT fare is included.
Browse the streets
From Wenlin Road explore the Dadong and Danan street area and choose stalls that are open. The market building and street vendors do not necessarily share hours or closing days.
- Old photographs do not guarantee today's vendors or prices. Confirm the menu, price and allergy ingredients before paying; wait beside the stall without blocking the pedestrian route.
Return to the Red Line
Meet at your saved point and retrace the route to Jiantan Exit1. For Taipei Main travel south and confirm Yuanshan R14 as the next station.
- A late-opening stall does not mean trains run as late. Check the last train independently; the market basement's hours can also differ from the surrounding street vendors.
