Itinerary & area

Tokyo travel scene

One Tokyo hotel is unlikely to sit close to everything. Write down the three areas where you expect to spend most time and group them on a map.

Planning example

  1. As a planning example, start comparing a Shinjuku option for western Tokyo plans and a Ueno option for eastern plans. The area name alone does not prove that a particular hotel is convenient.
  2. Search two hotels for the same dates and write out hotel → first sight → last sight → hotel transfers. Exclude a hotel whose first airport connection cannot meet your flight schedule, even if the room is cheaper.
02

Transfers & walks

The south side of Shinjuku station

Compare the daily travel as well as the room price. With children or large bags, check the route to the station and lift access.

03

Airport access

Keikyu gates at Haneda Airport

Check departure as carefully as arrival. For an early flight, compare the first service with your intended airport arrival time.

04

Room conditions

Room area, beds, non-smoking status, taxes and cancellation rules differ by property and room. Use an area guide to narrow the shortlist, then read the booking conditions again immediately before payment.
